Countdown To Show
Northover Energy, formerly known as Northover Fuels is a family owned, independent oil supplier. Originally a coal merchants, we started at the outbreak of World War 1 by the current owners great grandfather, where the business supplied solid and liquid fuels throughout the South & South West.
At the peak of its coal business, Northover Fuels operated from six depots across the region. The decline in solid fuel sales saw the company gradually move its focus to the sale of liquid fuel to the commercial and domestic heating market and then the eventual disposal of the coal delivery business to the CPL Group in early August 2017, which still trades under the Northover Fuels brand. You can however still collect coal on a cash & carry basis from our depot in Sturminster Newton.
Our customers, serviced by our fleet of modern tankers and our friendly, helpful staff, rely on our fast, efficient service, to keep their businesses operating smoothly and their homes nice and warm! We do this by operating from our headquarters in North Dorset and by having some tankers located in Shoreham, West Sussex.
We have been the designated supplier of fuel to the Great Dorset Steam Fair for over 30 years and are proud to be an Energy Partner and Sponsor of this World renowned event.

Old Rosie – the Original Cloudy Cider
Old Rosie was the name given to Westons Cider very own 1921 Aveling and Porter steam roller, which Norman Weston bought and refurbished in 1971. Still working, she sits in the cider mill yard, in Herefordshire, with her summer filled with visits to steam fairs including the GDSF. Strong, reliable and so loved by everyone in the Westons family they named this cider in her honour.
Old Rosie, the cider brand continues to grow, and can be found in both pubs and supermarkets. The liquid is made to a traditional Westons recipe from the 1950’s – it’s a still, medium-bodied and fruity cloudy cider matured from freshly pressed bittersweet apples. Scents of honey and vintage cider barrels, this truly old fashioned cloudy cider is slowly matured and left unfiltered.

Gritchie Brewing Co
Gritchie Brewing Co, who are based in Ashmore, just on the Dorset/Wiltshire border, only a few miles away from the show site in Tarrant Hinton, was founded by Guy Ritchie, the famous film director, producer, and screenwriter. Guy says “I’ve always had a passion for beer and pub culture, so it seemed fitting that I should set up a brewery. I’m interested in trying to add a subtle and contemporary change to the traditional drink of Britain”.
At Gritchie Brewing Company we are dedicated to brewing beer using traditional methods. We work closely together on the Estate to make sure that the beer in your glass is as fresh and tasty as if you were drinking it inside the brewery.
Two of our main ingredients are truly homegrown, the Maris Otter malt barley that we harvest from our fields and the local water sourced beneath the ground of our land. Our specially-selected hops, blended with classic varieties and new breeds help to shape each of our beer’s flavour, making them well-rounded and sessionable.
Gritchie Brewing Co have six core principal beers: English Lore, Moon Lore, Sun Lore, Angel’s Lore, Session Lore and Winter Lore. The term ‘Lore’ which means the passing-on of knowledge and legacy, is part of the Brewery’s beer story to honour traditions whilst creating something that can be shared.
Excitingly, as part of their sponsorship package, Gritchie Brewing Co will be bringing their purpose-built outdoor bar, a converted 1972 vintage Bedford TK Lorry Horsebox to the GDSF this year, offering a full bar service to include their full range of Ales, Lagers and IPA’s, with the addition of their Cider. You will find their Lore collection available every day of the show.
