Frequently Asked Questions

Q. Can you still book camping in advance for the 2010 show?
A. No.

Prepaid camping is now closed. However, subject to availability camping and entrance tickets can be purchased on arrival at the showground. Please enter the site through gate 4 and make your way to the Enquiries office. Our normal terms and conditions will apply regarding the exclusion of commercial vehicles in our campsites. Only cars, tents, caravans and properly manufactured passanger carrying vehicles e.g. Landrover Discovery will be permitted. Camper vans and motorhomes will also be admitted if properly manufactured. Caravans must not exceed 24ft  (excluding draw bar). You can check camping availability before you travel by phoning 01258 577032 or 01258 577037, on or after 28th August. All prepaid camping wil be charged at £15 per night per pitch.

 

Q. How many people are admitted on a family ticket?
A. Two adults and two children aged 6-15 years inclusive.
Q. From what time does the evening rate apply?
A. From 5pm.
Q. Are there any concessions for Sunday admission?
A. Yes there are reduced prices for advance and pay on the day Sunday tickets. This is due to the show ending at 3pm, not due to less attractions.
Q. Are credit card facilities available at the entrance gates for "On the Day" admission payments?
A. Yes
Q. Are dogs allowed on the show field?
A. Yes, as long as they are kept on a lead at all times.
Q. Are barbeques allowed?
A. Unfortunately due to health and safety restrictions we do not allow barbeques of any kind including gas.
Q. Does public camping include admission?
A. No, you have to buy entrance tickets for each person and for each day you wish to enter the show field. During the five actual show days you must book the relevant amount of admission tickets to correspond with your camping requirements.
Q. What time do the car parks close?
A. Close at 1am. However, there is an overnight parking facility for which a charge will apply. Caravans are prohibited from entering our car parks.
Q. Are there any concessions for severely disabled?
A. If a carer or wheelchair pusher is required the carer comes in free of charge. This applies to day visitors only, not campers.
Q. Are there any banking facilities at the show?
A. Yes, Thomas Cook Banking provides these facilities.
Q. Is the ground uneven?
A. The show field is usually a working farm so suitable footwear is advised.
Q. Are disabled buggies available?
A. Yes, they need to be booked well in advance from Poole Shopmobility who can be contacted on 01202 661770.
Q. Can you sleep in your cars overnight?
A. Yes, we operate an overnight parking facility for which a charge will apply.
Q. Is there any local transport to the show field?
A. Yes we provide a courtesy bus from the Ham/Morrison Car Park in Blandford to the show field on a regular basis. Wilts and Dorset Bus Company also provide buses from Salisbury bus and rail station. Their contact details are 01722 336855 or www.wdbus.co.uk

A. At 8am

A. At 7am daily
Q. Is there a pay on arrival public campsite?
A. There will be no "Pay on arrival" campsites available, apart from short stay camping. Caravans are prohibited from entering the Pay on Arrival Campsite. All other camping must be booked in advance.
Q. At what age do the OAP rates apply?
A. Women 60 and over, Men 60 and over.
Q. Is there a maximum length of caravan on the pre-paid public campsites?
A. Yes caravans must not exceed 24ft excluding draw bar. Any queries contact our booking office on 01258 488928.
Q. Are motor homes allowed on the pre-paid campsites?
A. Yes, camper vans and motor homes are allowed but must be properly manufactured. For all motor homes which exceed 25ft please contact the booking office on 01258 488928.
Q. Are commercial vehicles allowed on the public pre-paid campsites?
A. Sorry, but we are unable to allow vans, lorries, trucks/pick up trucks (open or covered), crew cabs, utility vehicles, mini buses, buses or coaches or any other type of commercial vehicle whether privately or commercially taxed onto the public pre-paid campsites. However, all types of Landrovers are accepted.
Q. What facilities are available on the show field?
A. We have showers, water, toilets, shops, and a Calor Gas store. We also have 24-hour emergency medical cover along with the Police, Fire Service and security.
Q. Is there a "hop on and off" shuttle bus around the showground?
A. Yes, for a third year we plan to have a shuttle bus service operating a hop on and off service around the perimeter of the showground. The service was a great success over the last two years and many people explored areas of the showground they had never found before. (A small charge will apply for this service).
