TERMS, CONDITIONS AND INFORMATION FOR PRE-PAID CAMPSITES 2010

1.0. Tickets

 Each person in your party must have the correct number of admission tickets to correspond to the number of nights camping booked.

Child tickets will be required for all children aged 6 - 15 years old. All children under 6 years old have free admission and do not require a ticket. Children under 16 years do not require an entrance ticket on Sunday 5th September.

1.1 Entrance tickets are required on your day of arrival providing your arrival day is a show day.

1.2 If you have not booked enough tickets in advance you will have to pay the on the day rate at the pay gate.

 1.3 No admission will be accepted without the correct documentation.

1.4 You will be required to present your admission tickets at the pay gate each day to enter the showground. This will apply to all Pre-paid Campsites inc. longstay and disabled.

1.5 On presentation of a valid day ticket you will be issued with a wrist band which will allow access to and from the campsite.

2.0 Access

 The campsites are operational from 8am on Saturday 28th August to midday on Monday 6th September.

2.1 Access to the campsites is not permitted between the hours of 8.00pm and 8.00am for new arrivals. If you arrive during these hours you will be asked to park in the holding area until morning. This is strictly enforced.

2.2 All vehicles, caravans and tents must be removed from the campsite by midday on Monday 6th September.

3.0 Minimum Stay

The minimum stay on all campsites is two nights.

4.0. Prohibited Vehicles / Caravans

4.1 Only cars or properly manufactured passenger carrying vehicles such as a Landrover discovery are allowed on the campsites.

4.2 Vans, Lorries, Trucks /Pickup trucks (open or covered), crew cabs, utility vehicles, mini buses, buses or coaches or any other type of commercial vehicle whether privately or commercially taxed are not allowed access onto the public campsites.

4.4 Caravans exceeding 24ft excluding drawbar are prohibited from the campsites.

4.5 Campervans and motorhomes must be properly manufactured. No articulated motorhomes will be allowed.

4.6 All motorhomes which exceed 25ft should contact the booking office before booking.

4.7 Only small camping trailers are permitted on the campsites.

5.0 Pitch Regulations

 5.1 When booking please be advised that a pitch will contain a maximum of one caravan, plus awning and towing vehicle or one tent plus vehicle or one motorhome plus awning. A pitch is a maximum size of 20ft frontage by 25ft depth. If you require additional space you must book a 2nd pitch.

5.2 All tents and caravans have to be properly spaced according to strict fire regulations that apply.

5.3 All extra vehicles or tents must be booked in advance.

5.4 Each campsite includes a marked area for tents. Only put your tent up after you have been shown where to camp by a campsite official.

5.5 Multiple units may not be able to camp together, especially if arriving on different days.

5.6 Any additional vehicles must be booked and paid for by 13th Aug 2010 through the booking office. Additional vehicles are charged £10.00 per night. Due to limited space only 1 extra car can be booked for each unit booked. No extra cars can stay on the campsite unless booked in advance.

5.7 Do not exceed the number of units booked on you pitch. If extra tents are erected you will have to pay an additional charge or take them down.

6.0 Campsite Regulations

6.1 You have been allocated a pitch which is 6m (20ft) frontage by 7.5 m (25ft) depth it is important your camping area is within your pitch.

6.2 All caravans must be parked with the towbar facing into the road way.

6.3 3 clear metres must be left between your towing vehicle and the next unit to comply with the fire regulations. This space must be kept clear of all obstructions.

6.4 Please make sure that all portable toilets are emptied in the elsan points provided and not in the site toilets located around the campsite. Elsan points are located on the perimeter of the campsite at regular intervals.

6.5 All roadways must be kept clear of stationary vehicles for emergency access; any vehicle blocking a roadway will be removed.

6.6 Noise must be kept to a minimum after 11pm and all generators should be switched off.

6.7 No Barbeques or open fires are allowed on site. Any barbeque or open fire will be extinguished by the fire service or security.

6.8 Make sure all rubbish is disposed of in the bins provided and where possible please use the recycling facilities provided.

6.9 No Quad Bikes, mini motorcycles, utility vehicles or golf buggy’s are allowed to be used on site.

6.10 All disabled scooters being used on the showground must have the appropriate road traffic act insurance if applicable.

6.11 Dogs must be kept on leads at all times.

6.12 All ‘gazebo’ type structures must be adequately secured to the ground.

6.13 Great Dorset Steam Fair Ltd will not be liable for damage caused by adverse weather conditions.

6.14 If your departure day is Wednesday, Thursday or Friday you must vacate your pitch by 11am as the space will be reused. If you intend visiting the show on your departure day, please move your car and caravan to the holding area. For motorhomes and cars with tents, you should move your vehicle to the public car park.

THE MANAGEMENT RESERVE THE RIGHT TO REFUSE ENTRY TO ANY VEHICLE, CARAVAN OR TRAILER THAT DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE CAMPSITE RULES.

7. Fire Regulations - You should provide at least one fire extinguisher, manufactured to British standard 5423 and rated 13A (equivalent to a 9.1 litre water/gas expelled or similar dry powder extinguisher where gas appliances are in use). Where cooking facilities are being used at least one fire blanket must be provided. Where gas rings are used to heat boilers etc, they must be stood on flameproof material which will not transmit heat. No cooking appliances should be stood directly on grass or stubble. In the event of a fire please raise the alarm immediately by contacting any site official or by dialing 999 from a mobile phone, please state exact location.

8. Generators - The Organisers allows generators to be used providing they are moderately sized and do not reach a noise level whereby they become a nuisance to adjacent Campers. The Organiser will stop the use of any such equipment if, in their opinion, it is causing a nuisance to others or is in a dangerous condition. Generators must be turned off at 11pm.

9. Alcohol - Only alcohol purchased on site is to be consumed in the showground. Anyone consuming alcohol in the beer tents that has not purchased it on site will be asked to leave. Security will operate a strict entry procedure on the access to the showground and on entry to all the beer tents where they will be operating a random search policy on bags etc.

10. Smoking - In accordance with the No Smoking Regulations all the Marquees on site will be No Smoking. No Smoking rules must be strictly observed in specified no smoking areas.

11. Security - The organisers will not be responsible for any loss or damage to equipment whilst on the campsites or Showground. The Organisers will use its best endeavours to protect the site, accordingly, security personnel will patrol the campsites 24 hours a day from Saturday 28th August to Monday 6th September. If you see anyone causing trouble please report this as soon as possible to the security or a site official, please try and provide as much information as possible as this will help when dealing with an incident.

12. Parking Enforcement - Parking enforcement action will be taken if vehicles are parked causing an obstruction. Vehicles that are causing an obstruction will be towed away and the owner will be liable for the cost.

13. Speed Limit - You must comply with the site speed limit of 5mph across the campsites at all times.

14. Road Traffic Act - The Road traffic Act applies on site. All vehicles being driven on site must be done so in accordance of this law. All drivers must have a valid driving license, Insurance and an MOT certificate.

15. Public Car Parks - The public car parks will be closed between 1am and 7am. Any vehicle in the car parks during these times will be issued with a fixed penalty charge of £100.

16. Services Available • There are showers and a shop available on certain prepaid campsites and showers on the disabled campsite. A shop and a fruit & veg stall are available in the main show site at the top of the market trade section. • CALOR GAS will be delivering mornings and evenings. They also have a depot on site. • A mobile butcher will come round daily. • Thomas Cook will be on site again providing banking facilities, which will include foreign currency and cheque cashing. They will be open as follows: Tues 31st Aug 1.00pm to 3.00pm, Wed 1st & Thur 2nd Sept 9.00am to 6.00pm, Fri 3rd & Sat 4th 9.00am to 8.00pm and Sun 5th Sept 9.00am to 5.00pm. • A pharmacy will be on site, located in the Administration area.

Please also look out for the emergency contact points around the showground where you will be able to get information and assistance.

This service will be in operation from 8am on Sat 28th August through till 2pm on Mon 6th Sept. The telephone helpline is available if you have a problem and want to contact an organiser or you wish to report an incident.
