Annual Dinner and Dance 2012

Our annual Dinner and Dance will be held on Saturday 18th February 2012 and due to popular demand, we will be reverting to The Crown Hotel, West Street, Blandford Forum, DT11 7AJ.                                               Telephone number 01258 456626.

The Hotel has a limited number of rooms available for just £90 per night for a double / twin room including breakfast. If you would like to book a room please contact the Hotel direct on their telephone number above and let them know that you are attending the Great Dorset Steam Fair dinner. Please reserve your room early as they will become booked quickly. 

We do really appreciate the support we have had in the past, the dinner could not go ahead without you. Please come and join us and tell your friends too. Let's keep this tradition going. The Dinner and Dance has always been a really great evening and this one will be no exception.

Tickets cost £28 and dress code is smart, black tie optional.

Fairground Attractions

For those of you who weren't aware, the Great Dorset Steam Fair was featured on 'Fairground Attractions' last night (8/12/11) on Channel 5. The documentary series follows three well known showman families who are long standing attendees of the Great Dorset Steam Fair. If you missed it you can catch up on Channel 5 on demand. We certainly enjoyed it!

URGENT HELP REQUIRED

The Great Dorset Steam Fair has been targeted by thieves who have stolen over £120k of cables, fuse boards, plumbing equipment, fencing pins and a range of tools. This is a devastating loss to the business as the equipment is going to be very hard to replace.

We would like to appeal to anyone who has information or hears of these products being sold to contact Dorset Police on their non emergency number 101 quoting incident number 17:252.

2011 saw the Great Dorset Steam Fair in its 43^rd year and thank you to everybody that attended the show, whether as an exhibitor, member of the public, trader or contractor. The show was a huge success, aided by glorious sunshine.

Managing Director Martin Oliver says "The 2011 show was probably one of the best shows we have ever held. We had a fantastic array of exhibits and attractions and the weather was superb throughout. It certainly makes all the hard work in organising the show worthwhile".

As always thoughts move quickly on to next year and plans are already underway for 2012. We look forward to seeing you all next year.
